DJHA and DSEHC Host Holiday 3v3 Tournament
December 19-22 at Valley Ranch
2nd Annual Drop and Shop 3-on-3 DSEHC/DJHA Tournament
Back by popular demand and based off of the Summer 3on 3 tourney, DSEHC and DJHA are hosting a 3on 3 Pond Hockey Tournament during Xmas break (19-22 Dec)at the Squirt, Peewee and Bantam age groups in the AAA SuperSeries format (www.superseriesaaa.com). Both organizations are excited about hosting this tournament together to ensure more quality and structure to an already great event. Both organizations will be working together to put on the BEST 3-on-3 tournament in the city. With the new addition of two levels it will allow players at all skill levels to work on their skill sets. We will have 6 teams maximum per age group and each team will receive 6 games.
Format (6 Teams per age group) 19-20 Dec (Squirt/Peewee Platinum/Gold) and 21-22 Dec (Bantam Platinum/Gold): 5 game round-robin with 1st, 3rd and 5th place final for 6 games
We will incorporate some changes for our 3-on-3 tournaments based on feedback. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for each player.
- Two Divisons (Platinum and Gold Divisions) to allow for more competitve games per birth year. Teams will be allowed to choose what division they want to play in. If a team needs to be moved up or down they will be notified prior to the tournament starting.
Platinum Division
The Platinum Division will be for AAA hockey players/teams and AA hockey players/teams.
Gold Division
The Gold Division will be for players at all levels. There will be no AAA players/teams or high level AA players/teams allowed in this division.
Having two divisions will allow more competitive games and allow the kids to have more FUN!
- DSEHC will allow both Teams and Individual Players to register for the tournament. (Please make sure teams choose a division when they sign up. There will be a max of 6 teams per division).
- Provide DRAFT schedule well in advance in order to manage personal Schedules/Calendar
- A single Period (1) with age specific length
- Refs will signal each and every score. Scores will be displayed for each game and through-out the game using FLIP-A-SCORE SCOREBOARD
- Certified Officials - NEW each game will be officiated by former or current officials
- Goalies are FREE to ensure they are registered early in the process
Why 3 on 3 Pond Hockey?
This tournament will be cross-ice, which will allow players more touches with the puck. Cross ice hockey teaches players to make quicker decisions with the puck and teaches them how to play in smaller areas.

- DSEHC convener available throughout the tournament
- Players will change every minute (1) with a buzzer to make sure every player gets equal ice time and the pace of the game remains fast
- DSEHC coaching staff will place together the teams at each age group for Individual Entries based on the number of players and level and will also allow TeamEntry(6 or more players and a goalie with a maximum of 9 skaters)
- Penalties will result in players sitting out for 1 minute teams will play short handed 3 on 2, the ref will send a new player out once the 1 minute is up.
- No more hassle with Jerseys sizes and last minute ordering – “Pinnies” will be provided to teams on the ice before each game and returned after each game – one size fits all
- Games will consist of 1x30min period (Mite/Squirt) or 1x40min period (peewee/Bantam)
- SuperSeries Format – 6 games guaranteed - round robin and championship games

- Squirt - 2002 2001 birth years
- Peewee - 2000 and 1999 birth years
- Bantam – 1998,1997

- This tournament will be held at Valley Ranch on Rink 2

- Dates are set for 19-22 Dec depending on the format. We will know the format by first week in Dec
- Cost for the 6 game SuperSeries 3on3 tournament is $100/player
- Goalies are FREE to ensure they are registered early in the process
- No more hassle with Jerseys sizes and last minute ordering – “Pinnies” will be provided to teams on the ice before each game and returned after each game – one size fits all
- There will be NO walk-up registration
- Please download the Draft schedule to review the dates, times, etc to manage your personal schedule.
- Final schedule will posted 1-2 days before the tournament start date which will include the teams and player roster
Registration/payment needs to be completed and rosters must be sent to Jordan French hockeyjf@yahoo.com by Friday, 16th Dec 2011 in order to finalize teams and post the FINAL schedule by the 17th Dec
