DSEHC hosts summer hockey fun

The Stars Elite are happy to announce their schedule for this year's 4-on-4 Summer Pond Hockey. Last year was a huge success for players who participated. This is a great opportunity for players of all skill levels to work on improving their skill sets. There will be no coaching from the benches which will allow players to have fun and work on being creative with the puck. There will be a referee on the ice at all times to make sure the games are run efficiently and effectively. Players generally play for their team during the fall and do camps in the spring. Pond Hockey allows players to try moves they learn in camps or see on T.V.

Why 4-on-4 Pond Hockey?

- Players learn from other players and is a great way for players of all skill level to learn to from AAA players.
- Players go through a long stressful season. Pond Hockey allows them to go out and just play for fun without the pressure of winning being the focus.
- The more players handle the puck the more confident they become in games.
- Skating is a huge part of the game - 4-on-4 hockey opens the ice up so players get a lot skating in during the sessions.
- Players will get more scoring chances, which teaches them how to score.
- It allows players to be creative and work on moves.
- Fun and more fun.

Rules and Format

- Games will be officiated.
- Games will be full ice and last 75min
- Buzzer will blow every two minutes, which will result in a line change. 4 New players will go on the ice and play the “Live” puck to keep the flow of the game.
- There will be no off-sides or icing called during the sessions to keep the players moving the whole two minutes.
- Penalties will result in a penalty shot. Players will play the puck in the event the shooter does not score.
- Players will receive a pull over jersey each week, which will allow players to play on different teams each week.
- Score will be kept during the games.
