Through years of experience, Billy Pye Goaltending Academy has developed a whole new approach to goalie training. Our unique curriculum combines standard on-ice training with a robust off-ice program. This off-ice program includes cross training to increase physical strength / endurance. It also includes mindset training, such as mental imagery to develop player confidence under game day stress. This combination of on-ice drills, off-ice cross training, and mindset training are all essential to goalie peak performance. Our holistic approach to athletic training develops well rounded athletes ready to face any game day challenge.
These 5 day camps will include all of the aspects of our unique approach. On-ice time will vary per day and will include goaltending movement, save selection, positioning, and behind the net play. Off-ice cross training will include exercises that support the on-ice drills. For example, on days when students on-ice drills focus on positioning and saves, their off-ice time will offer cross-training such as juggling and catch. Daily mindset training will include meditation, breathing techniques, game scenario imagery, and stress management skills.
